How to participate in the Competition

Would you like to experience something new and develop your competence? Are you interested in expanding your international networks to other vocational students and working life?

Taitaja2025. The Finnish National Skills Competition in Turku, May 5th – 8th 2025 offers a chance to do both and much more!

The Taitaja Competition is the largest annual vocational education event in Finland. In May 2025, the competition is organised in Turku, South-Western Finland with aims to attract over 70,000 visitors to take part in the event.

Taitaja2025 International Program 

The competition for the Finnish championship includes approximately 50 skills and over 400 competitors. Certain skills in the Taitaja2025 final competition are open for international guest competitors from all around the world. The event will function as an international rehearsal for future Skills competitions. We are offering your organisation a chance to send your students, EuroSkills 2025 competitors and experts to join the event.

Please note that all applicants are not automatically accepted to participate in the competition, but everybody will be notified of their application results.

During the event, on Wed May 7th, an International Welcome Seminar will be organised for our guests. It is a great opportunity to hear more about Finnish and international VET topics as well as to build contacts with colleagues from near and far. The seminar is free of charge. Registration for the seminar will open in January 2025.

Taitaja2025 offers an opportunity to enjoy an interesting program, find inspiration in Finnish top expertise, and to build networks with other VET specialists and organisations. The main venues of the event are the Turku Fair Center, Gatorade Center and Turku AKK (Turku Adult Education Centre) campus area.

How to apply for the Competition?

We welcome international students and EuroSkills 2025 competitors as guest competitors! International Skills experts are welcome to participate with their competitors.

The application for competitors and joining experts is open until January 20th 2025. To apply, contact your national Skills organisation.

Please note that all applicants are not automatically accepted to participate in the competition. All applicants will be notified of their application results after the application deadline.

Taitaja2025 Package

The Taitaja2025 competition package offers a simple solution for visiting Taitaja2025 in Turku. All international competitors and related experts will be required to purchase a package.

Taitaja2025 Package includes

  • Accommodation at Holiday Club Caribia with breakfast for Sun May 4th – Thu May 8th 2025
  • Taitaja2025 opening ceremony on May 5th and closing ceremony on May 8th 2025
  • Competition fees and materials
  • Lunch during the competition days
  • Taitaja After Party after competition hours (food and non-alcoholic beverages included)
  • Evening event for international guests
  • Help and guidance available onsite by the Taitaja2025 organisation
  • Visa invitation if applicable

Taitaja2025 Competitor package price is:

  • 1300 €/person including VAT (accommoration in single room)
  • 1100 €/person including VAT (accommoration in a double room shared with another competitor from your organisation)

Taitaja2025 Expert package price is 1100 € including VAT.

Please note that the package does not include flights or travel to Turku or visas costs.

17.2.2025

Competitor selections by February 17th 2025

Applicants will be notified about competitor selections by February 17th 2025 at the latest. The selected competitors and experts will receive instructions for package enrollment and payment after acceptance.

28.2.2025

February 28th 2025

The Taitaja2025 package invoice for international competitors and experts has to be paid by the end of February 2025. Unpaid packages will lead to participation cancellation.
